마태 25:14-30

"또 하늘 나라는 이런 사정과 같다. 어떤 사람이 여행을 떠나면서, 자기 종들을 불러서, 자기의 재산을 그들에게 맡겼다.

그는 각 사람의 능력을 따라, 한 사람에게는 다섯 달란트를 주고, 또 한 사람에게는 두 달란트를 주고, 또 다른 한 사람에게는 한 달란트를 주고 떠났다.

다섯 달란트를 받은 사람은 곧 가서, 그것으로 장사를 하여, 다섯 달란트를 더 벌었다.

두 달란트를 받은 사람도 그와 같이 하여, 두 달란트를 더 벌었다.

그러나 한 달란트 받은 사람은 가서, 땅을 파고, 주인의 돈을 숨겼다.

오랜 뒤에, 그 종들의 주인이 돌아와서, 그들과 셈을 하게 되었다.

다섯 달란트를 받은 사람은 다섯 달란트를 더 가지고 와서 말하기를 '주인님, 주인께서 다섯 달란트를 내게 맡기셨는데, 보십시오, 다섯 달란트를 더 벌었습니다' 하였다.

그의 주인이 그에게 말하였다. '잘했다! 착하고 신실한 종아. 네가 적은 일에 신실하였으니, 이제 내가 많은 일을 네게 맡기겠다. 와서, 주인과 함께 기쁨을 누려라.'

두 달란트를 받은 사람도 다가와서 '주인님, 주인님께서 두 달란트를 내게 맡기셨는데, 보십시오, 두 달란트를 더 벌었습니다' 하고 말하였다.

그의 주인이 그에게 말하였다. '잘했다, 착하고 신실한 종아! 네가 적은 일에 신실하였으니, 이제 내가 많은 일을 네게 맡기겠다. 와서, 주인과 함께 기쁨을 누려라.'

그러나 한 달란트를 받은 사람은 다가와서 말하였다. '주인님, 나는, 주인이 굳은 분이시라, 심지 않은 데서 거두시고, 뿌리지 않은 데서 모으시는 줄로 알고,

무서워하여 물러가서, 그 달란트를 땅에 숨겨 두었습니다. 보십시오, 여기에 그 돈이 있으니, 받으십시오.'

그러자 그의 주인이 그에게 말하였다. '악하고 게으른 종아, 너는 내가 심지 않은 데서 거두고, 뿌리지 않은 데서 모으는 줄 알았다.

그렇다면, 너는 내 돈을 돈놀이 하는 사람에게 맡겼어야 했다. 그랬더라면, 내가 와서, 내 돈에 이자를 붙여 받았을 것이다.

그에게서 그 한 달란트를 빼앗아서, 열 달란트 가진 사람에게 주어라.

가진 사람에게는 더 주어서 넘치게 하고, 갖지 못한 사람에게서는 있는 것마저 빼앗을 것이다.

이 쓸모 없는 종을 바깥 어두운 데로 내쫓아라. 거기서 슬피 울며 이를 가는 일이 있을 것이다.'"

14 ‘For it is as if a man, going on a journey, summoned his slaves and entrusted his property to them; 15to one he gave five talents,* to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. 16The one who had received the five talents went off at once and traded with them, and made five more talents. 17In the same way, the one who had the two talents made two more talents. 18But the one who had received the one talent went off and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. 19After a long time the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them. 20Then the one who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five more talents, saying, “Master, you handed over to me five talents; see, I have made five more talents.” 21His master said to him, “Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.” 22And the one with the two talents also came forward, saying, “Master, you handed over to me two talents; see, I have made two more talents.” 23His master said to him, “Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.” 24Then the one who had received the one talent also came forward, saying, “Master, I knew that you were a harsh man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter seed; 25so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.” 26But his master replied, “You wicked and lazy slave! You knew, did you, that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I did not scatter? 27Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and on my return I would have received what was my own with interest. 28So take the talent from him, and give it to the one with the ten talents. 29For to all those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance; but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away. 30As for this worthless slave, throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

신26:1-11

"주 당신들의 하나님이 당신들에게 유산으로 주시는 그 땅에 당신들이 들어가서 그것을 차지하고 살 때에,

당신들은 주 당신들의 하나님이 당신들에게 주시는 땅에서 거둔 모든 농산물의 첫 열매를 광주리에 담아서, 주 당신들의 하나님이 자기의 이름을 두려고 택하신 곳으로 가지고 가십시오.

거기에서 당신들은 직무를 맡고 있는 제사장에게 가서 '주님께서 우리 조상에게 주시겠다고 맹세하신 대로, 내가 이 땅에 들어오게 되었음을, 제사장께서 섬기시는 주 하나님께 오늘 아룁니다' 하고 보고를 하십시오.

제사장이 당신들의 손에서 그 광주리를 받아 주 당신들의 하나님의 제단 앞에 놓으면,

당신들은 주 당신들의 하나님 앞에서 다음과 같이 아뢰십시오. '내 조상은 떠돌아다니면서 사는 아람 사람으로서 몇 안 되는 사람을 거느리고 이집트로 내려가서, 거기에서 몸붙여 살면서, 거기에서 번성하여, 크고 강대한 민족이 되었습니다.

그러자 이집트 사람이 우리를 학대하며 괴롭게 하며, 우리에게 강제노동을 시켰습니다.

그래서 우리가 주 우리 조상의 하나님께 살려 달라고 부르짖었더니, 주님께서 우리의 울부짖음을 들으시고, 우리가 비참하게 사는 것과 고역에 시달리는 것과 억압에 짓눌려 있는 것을 보시고,

강한 손과 편 팔과 큰 위엄과 이적과 기사로, 우리를 이집트에서 인도하여 내셨습니다.

주님께서 우리를 이 곳으로 인도하셔서, 이 땅 곧 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅을 우리에게 주셨습니다.

주님, 주님께서 내게 주신 땅의 첫 열매를 내가 여기에 가져 왔습니다.' 그리고 당신들은 그것을 주 당신들의 하나님 앞에 놓고, 주 당신들의 하나님께 경배드리고,

레위 사람과, 당신들 가운데서 사는 외국 사람과 함께, 주 당신들의 하나님이 당신들과 당신들의 집안에 주신 온갖 좋은 것들을 누리십시오.

When you have come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance to possess, and you possess it, and settle in it, 2you shall take some of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which you harvest from the land that the Lord your God is giving you, and you shall put it in a basket and go to the place that the Lord your God will choose as a dwelling for his name. 3You shall go to the priest who is in office at that time, and say to him, ‘Today I declare to the Lord your God that I have come into the land that the Lord swore to our ancestors to give us.’ 4When the priest takes the basket from your hand and sets it down before the altar of the Lord your God, 5you shall make this response before the Lord your God: ‘A wandering Aramean was my ancestor; he went down into Egypt and lived there as an alien, few in number, and there he became a great nation, mighty and populous. 6When the Egyptians treated us harshly and afflicted us, by imposing hard labour on us, 7we cried to the Lord, the God of our ancestors; the Lord heard our voice and saw our affliction, our toil, and our oppression. 8The Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with a terrifying display of power, and with signs and wonders; 9and he brought us into this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey. 10So now I bring the first of the fruit of the ground that you, O Lord, have given me.’ You shall set it down before the Lord your God and bow down before the Lord your God. 11Then you, together with the Levites and the aliens who reside among you, shall celebrate with all the bounty that the Lord your God has given to you and to your house.
