The Pharisees said to him, ‘Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the sabbath?’ And he said to them, ‘Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need of food? The shelves at BTACs food pantry are empty of peanut butter, mac n' cheese, canned tuna, meat stews and would very much welcome some donations of these items. If folks could bring some of these items to church, I'll see that they get to BTAC. Women's Ministry Lunch - February 23rd
At the February 23rd meeting of Women's Ministry we will be decorating "Bras for a Cause", to be used for a nationally recognized fundraiser for Breast Cancer Research. Our decorated bras will be taken to the 21st Regional Women's Convocation on March 12th to be part of their display and fund raiser. Each bra that is decorated must be registered at a cost of $5.00. The women there will pay $1.00 for each vote for the best decorated. We are looking for sponsors to cover the cost of the registration and purchase of our new bras.
Evelyn Nicholson (818) 559-1406We hope to decorate at least 4 bras in a variety of themes and colors. We are asking everyone to contribute whatever they have to help us with this project, for example bits of lace, ribbon, craft supplies, felt, etc. We will supply glue guns, glue sticks and bras. We will display our "Bras for a Cause" on Sunday, March 6th for judging at our own congregation before transporting them to Convocation. Ladies - start thinking of your theme and your team. This is a time to be creative and have fun. You will be working with two or three other women. You may go to Bras For A Cause for examples and inspiration. Gentlemen, please "support" the women of our church as we work for a cure.
