이사야 40:1-11

"너희는 위로하여라! 나의 백성을 위로하여라!" 너희의 하나님께서 말씀하신다.

"예루살렘 주민을 격려하고, 그들에게 일러주어라. 이제 복역 기간이 끝나고, 죄에 대한 형벌도 다 받고, 지은 죄에 비하여 갑절의 벌을 주님에게서 받았다고 외쳐라."

한 소리가 외친다. "광야에 주님께서 오실 길을 닦아라. 사막에 우리의 하나님께서 오실 큰길을 곧게 내어라.

모든 계곡은 메우고, 산과 언덕은 깎아 내리고, 거친 길은 평탄하게 하고, 험한 곳은 평지로 만들어라.

주님의 영광이 나타날 것이니, 모든 사람이 그것을 함께 볼 것이다. 이것은 주님께서 친히 약속하신 것이다."

한 소리가 외친다. "너는 외쳐라." 그래서 내가 "무엇이라고 외쳐야 합니까?" 하고 물었다. "모든 육체는 풀이요, 그의 모든 아름다움은 들의 꽃과 같을 뿐이다.

주님께서 그 위에 입김을 부시면, 풀은 마르고 꽃은 시든다. 그렇다. 이 백성은 풀에 지나지 않는다.

풀은 마르고 꽃은 시드나, 우리 하나님의 말씀은 영원히 서 있다."

좋은 소식을 전하는 시온아, 어서 높은 산으로 올라가거라. 아름다운 소식을 전하는 예루살렘아, 너의 목소리를 힘껏 높여라. 두려워하지 말고 소리를 높여라. 유다의 성읍들에게 "여기에 너희의 하나님이 계신다" 하고 말하여라.

만군의 주 하나님께서 오신다. 그가 권세를 잡고 친히 다스리실 것이다. 보아라, 그가 백성에게 주실 상급을 가지고 오신다. 백성에게 주실 보상을 가지고 오신다.

그는 목자와 같이 그의 양 떼를 먹이시며, 어린 양들을 팔로 모으시고, 품에 안으시며, 젖을 먹이는 어미 양들을 조심스럽게 이끄신다.

Comfort, O comfort my people,

says your God.

2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem,

and cry to her

that she has served her term,

that her penalty is paid,

that she has received from the Lord’s hand

double for all her sins.

3 A voice cries out:

‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord,

make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

4 Every valley shall be lifted up,

and every mountain and hill be made low;

the uneven ground shall become level,

and the rough places a plain.

5 Then the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,

and all people shall see it together,

for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.’

6 A voice says, ‘Cry out!’

And I said, ‘What shall I cry?’

All people are grass,

their constancy is like the flower of the field.

7 The grass withers, the flower fades,

when the breath of the Lord blows upon it;

surely the people are grass.

8 The grass withers, the flower fades;

but the word of our God will stand for ever.

9 Get you up to a high mountain,

O Zion, herald of good tidings;*

lift up your voice with strength,

O Jerusalem, herald of good tidings,*

lift it up, do not fear;

say to the cities of Judah,

‘Here is your God!’

10 See, the Lord God comes with might,

and his arm rules for him;

his reward is with him,

and his recompense before him.

11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd;

he will gather the lambs in his arms,

and carry them in his bosom,

and gently lead the mother sheep.

 

 

 

막1:1-8

하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도의 복음의 시작은 이러하다.

예언자 이사야의 글에 기록하기를, "보아라, 내가 내 심부름꾼을 너보다 앞서 보낸다. 그가 네 길을 닦을 것이다."

"광야에서 외치는 이의 소리가 있다. '너희는 주님의 길을 예비하고, 그의 길을 곧게 하여라'" 한 것과 같이,

세례자 요한이 광야에 나타나서, 죄를 용서받게 하는 회개의 세례를 선포하였다.

그래서 온 유대 지방 사람들과 온 예루살렘 주민들이 그에게로 나아가서, 자기들의 죄를 고백하며, 요단 강에서 그에게 세례를 받았다.

요한은 낙타 털옷을 입고, 허리에 가죽 띠를 띠고, 메뚜기와 들꿀을 먹고 살았다.

그는 이렇게 선포하였다. "나보다 더 능력이 있는 이가 내 뒤에 오십니다. 나는 몸을 굽혀서 그의 신발 끈을 풀 자격조차 없습니다.

나는 여러분에게 물로 세례를 주었지만, 그는 여러분에게 성령으로 세례를 주실 것입니다.“

The beginning of the good news* of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.*

2 As it is written in the prophet Isaiah,*

‘See, I am sending my messenger ahead of you,*

who will prepare your way;

3 the voice of one crying out in the wilderness:

“Prepare the way of the Lord,

make his paths straight” ’,

4John the baptizer appeared* in the wilderness, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 5And people from the whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem were going out to him, and were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. 6Now John was clothed with camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. 7He proclaimed, ‘The one who is more powerful than I is coming after me; I am not worthy to stoop down and untie the thong of his sandals. 8I have baptized you with* water; but he will baptize you with* the Holy Spirit.’
