신명기6:4-9

이스라엘은 들으십시오. 주님은 우리의 하나님이시요, 주님은 오직 한 분뿐이십니다.

당신들은 마음을 다하고 뜻을 다하고 힘을 다하여, 주 당신들의 하나님을 사랑하십시오.

내가 오늘 당신들에게 명하는 이 말씀을 마음에 새기고,

자녀에게 부지런히 가르치며, 집에 앉아 있을 때나 길을 갈 때나, 누워 있을 때나 일어나 있을 때나, 언제든지 가르치십시오.

또 당신들은 그것을 손에 매어 표로 삼고, 이마에 붙여 기호로 삼으십시오.

집 문설주와 대문에도 써서 붙이십시오."

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone.* 5You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. 6Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. 7Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. 8Bind them as a sign on your hand, fix them as an emblem* on your forehead, 9and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

마태 22:34-46

바리새파 사람들이, 예수가 사두개파 사람들의 말문을 막아버리셨다는 소문을 듣고, 한 자리에 모였다.

그리고 그들 가운데 율법 교사 하나가 예수를 시험하여 물었다.

"선생님, 율법 가운데 어느 계명이 중요합니까?"

예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. "'네 마음을 다하고, 네 목숨을 다 하고, 네 뜻을 다하여, 주 너의 하나님을 사랑하여라' 하였으니,

이것이 가장 중요하고 으뜸 가는 계명이다.

둘째 계명도 이것과 같은데, '네 이웃을 네 몸과 같이 사랑하여라' 한 것이다.

이 두 계명에 온 율법과 예언서의 본 뜻이 달려 있다."

바리새파 사람들이 모였을 때에, 예수께서 그들에게 물으셨다.

"너희는 그리스도를 어떻게 생각하느냐? 그는 누구의 자손이냐?" 그들이 예수께 대답하였다. "다윗의 자손입니다."

예수께서 다시 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "그러면 다윗이 성령의 감동을 받아, 그를 주님이라고 부르면서 말하기를,

'주님께서 내 주께 말씀하셨다. 「내가 네 원수를 네 발 아래에 굴복시킬 때까지, 너는 내 오른쪽에 앉아 있어라」' 하였으니, 이것이 어찌된 일이냐?

다윗이 그리스도를 주라고 불렀는데, 어떻게 그리스도가 그의 자손이 되겠느냐?"

그러자 아무도 예수께 한 마디도 대답하지 못했으며, 그 날부터는 그에게 감히 묻는 사람도 없었다.

34 When the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together, 35and one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36‘Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?’ 37He said to him, ‘ “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” 38This is the greatest and first commandment. 39And a second is like it: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.’

41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them this question: 42‘What do you think of the Messiah?* Whose son is he?’ They said to him, ‘The son of David.’ 43He said to them, ‘How is it then that David by the Spirit* calls him Lord, saying,

44 “The Lord said to my Lord,

‘Sit at my right hand,

until I put your enemies under your feet’ ”?

45If David thus calls him Lord, how can he be his son?’ 46No one was able to give him an answer, nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions.
