마24:36-44

"그러나 그 날과 그 시각은 아무도 모른다. 하늘의 천사들도 모르고, 아들도 모르고, 오직 아버지만이 아신다. 노아의 때와 같이, 이 인자가 올 때에도 그러할 것이다. 홍수 이전 시대에, 노아가 방주에 들어가는 날까지, 사람들은 먹고 마시고 장가가고 시집가며 지냈다. 홍수가 나서 그들을 모두 휩쓸어 가기까지, 그들은 아무것도 알지 못하였다. 인자가 올 때에도 그러할 것이다. 그 때에 두 사람이 밭에 있을 터이나, 하나는 데려가고, 하나는 버려둘 것이다. 두 여자가 맷돌을 갈고 있을 터이나, 하나는 데려가고, 하나는 버려둘 것이다. 그러므로 깨어 있어라. 너희는 너희 주님께서 어느 날에 오실지를 알지 못하기 때문이다. 이것을 명심하여라. 집주인이 도둑이 밤 몇 시에 올지 알고 있으면, 그는 깨어 있어서, 도둑이 집을 뚫고 들어오도록 내버려두지 않았을 것이다. 그러므로 너희도 준비하고 있어라. 너희가 생각하지도 않는 시각에 인자가 올 것이기 때문이다."

"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they did not know until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of man. Then two men will be in the field; one is taken and one is left.

Two women will be grinding at the mill; one is taken and one is left. Watch therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the householder had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready; for the Son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

롬 13:11-14

여러분은 지금이 어느 때인지 압니다. 잠에서 깨어나야 할 때가 벌써 되었습니다. 지금은 우리의 구원이 우리가 처음 믿을 때보다 더 가까워졌습니다. 밤이 깊고, 낮이 가까이 왔습니다. 그러므로 우리는 어둠의 행실을 벗어버리고, 빛의 갑옷을 입읍시다. 낮에 행동하듯이, 단정하게 행합시다. 호사한 연회와 술취함, 음행과 방탕, 싸움과 시기에 빠지지 맙시다. 주 예수 그리스도로 옷을 입으십시오. 정욕을 채우려고 육신의 일을 꾀하지 마십시오.

Besides this you know what hour it is, how it is full time now for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed; the night is far gone, the day is at hand. Let us then cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; let us conduct ourselves becomingly as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in debauchery and licentiousness, not in quarreling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
