죽었다가 산 사람들 이야기(고후12:1-10; 막9:1-9)

무익하나마 내가 부득불 자랑하노니 주의 환상과 계시를 말하리라 내가 그리스도 안에 있는 한 사람을 아노니 그는 십사 년 전에 셋째 하늘에 이끌려 간 자라 （그가 몸 안에 있었는지 몸 밖에 있었는지 나는 모르거니와 하나님은 아시느니라） 내가 이런 사람을 아노니 （그가 몸 안에 있었는지 몸 밖에 있었는지 나는 모르거니와 하나님은 아시느니라） 그가 낙원으로 이끌려 가서 말로 표현할 수 없는 말을 들었으니 사람이 가히 이르지 못할 말이로다 내가 이런 사람을 위하여 자랑하겠으나 나를 위하여는 약한 것들 외에 자랑하지 아니하리라 내가 만일 자랑하고자 하여도 어리석은 자가 되지 아니할 것은 내가 참말을 함이라 그러나 누가 나를 보는 바와 내게 듣는 바에 지나치게 생각할까 두려워하여 그만두노라 여러 계시를 받은 것이 지극히 크므로 너무 자만하지 않게 하시려고 내 육체에 가시 곧 사탄의 사자를 주셨으니 이는 나를 쳐서 너무 자만하지 않게 하려 하심이라 이것이 내게서 떠나가게 하기 위하여 내가 세 번 주께 간구하였더니 나에게 이르시기를 내 은혜가 네게 족하도다 이는 내 능력이 약한 데서 온전하여짐이라 하신지라 그러므로 도리어 크게 기뻐함으로 나의 여러 약한 것들에 대하여 자랑하리니 이는 그리스도의 능력이 내게 머물게 하려 함이라 그러므로 내가 그리스도를 위하여 약한 것들과 능욕과 궁핍과 박해와 곤고를 기뻐하노니 이는 내가 약한 그 때에 강함이라

I must boast; there is nothing to be gained by it, but I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord. I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven -- whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows. And I know that this man was caught up into Paradise -- whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows and he heard things that cannot be told, which man may not utter. On behalf of this man I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except of my weaknesses. Though if I wish to boast, I shall not be a fool, for I shall be speaking the truth. But I refrain from it, so that no one may think more of me than he sees in me or hears from me. And to keep me from being too elated by the abundance of revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan, to harass me, to keep me from being too elated. Three times I besought the Lord about this, that it should leave me; but he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities; for when I am weak, then I am strong. (고후12:1-10)

또 그들에게 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 여기 서 있는 사람 중에는 죽기 전에 하나님의 나라가 권능으로 임하는 것을 볼 자들도 있느니라 하시니라 엿새 후에 예수께서 베드로와 야고보와 요한을 데리시고 따로 높은 산에 올라가셨더니 그들 앞에서 변형되사

그 옷이 광채가 나며 세상에서 빨래하는 자가 그렇게 희게 할 수 없을 만큼 매우 희어졌더라 이에 엘리야가 모세와 함께 그들에게 나타나 예수와 더불어 말하거늘 베드로가 예수께 고하되 랍비여 우리가 여기 있는 것이 좋사오니 우리가 초막 셋을 짓되 하나는 주를 위하여, 하나는 모세를 위하여, 하나는 엘리야를 위하여 하사이다 하니 이는 그들이 몹시 무서워하므로 그가 무슨 말을 할지 알지 못함이더라 마침 구름이 와서 그들을 덮으며 구름 속에서 소리가 나되 이는 내 사랑하는 아들이니 너희는 그의 말을 들으라 하는지라 문득 둘러보니 아무도 보이지 아니하고 오직 예수와 자기들뿐이었더라 그들이 산에서 내려올 때에 예수께서 경고하시되 인자가 죽은 자 가운데서 살아날 때까지는 본 것을 아무에게도 이르지 말라 하시니 그들이 이 말씀을 마음에 두며 서로 문의하되 죽은 자 가운데서 살아나는 것이 무엇일까 하고

And he said to them, "Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power."

And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain apart by themselves; and he was transfigured before them, and his garments became glistening, intensely white, as no fuller on earth could bleach them. And there appeared to them Eli'jah with Moses; and they were talking to Jesus. And Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is well that we are here; let us make three booths, one for you and one for Moses and one for Eli'jah." For he did not know what to say, for they were exceedingly afraid. And a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This is my beloved Son; listen to him."

And suddenly looking around they no longer saw any one with them but Jesus only.

And as they were coming down the mountain, he charged them to tell no one what they had seen, until the Son of man should have risen from the dead.(막9:1-9)
